romney won the debate last night. i thought the president was listening to a lot of repugnance and also to his adviser -- a lot of the pundits and also to his advisers to not be as a professor tutorial in his responses. mitt romney clearly had the night last night as far as the debate itself. i think they need to go back to the drawing board and allow barack obama to be barack obama. not so much again as have the appearance of the president, which he is. i have heard most of the pundits were saying that the president should not go on the attack and he should look more presidential and not necessarily play the blame game as to what brought us here. congratulations to mr. romney on his performance. host: does that crystallize who you will vote for? caller: i thought mr. romney was very disingenuous. i watched the debates from top to bottom. jim lehrer asked mr. romney whether he supported the the vouchers that mr. ryan would be introducing to senior citizens. he dodged that question like a football player going through

guest: well, i think mitt romney in the first debate supported, made it clear support for education. the democrats will say that republicans want to cut education and make education harder to attain for students, and that is just not true. ryan wanty and govpaul to make sure school is accessible for all students. on the issue of pell grants, the president has tried to divide forever on that. the point of being a back door, i do not think that is true. schools admit students. i think pole grants are going to students who get into the college anyway, and have trouble affording college. one thing that has drawn contrast is the democrats will say mitt romney does not support education. that is not true. i would argue he supports it more. education was heavily supported in massachusetts. the education system there was rated very highly. host: let me put the numbers on the screen. 1.5 million young people between ages of 80-29 eligible to vote here in ohio. you both, i assume, have student loans. the average debt of college students is just under $28,000. the and apply merit among those be

there are many other issues that president obama and mitt romney are going to be debating. we have done she more debates left. at the end of the day, the person who comes out as the candidate most able to get america back on track in terms of jobs and getting people back to work, that candidate has the biggest advantage. on friday with the jobs number, present, we gained some of that advantage. i will not say the september numbers will be a game changer. but i do think we have some good news for the president. host: we are looking at the jobs figures that came out yesterday. we hear from the candidates who spoke yesterday. here is governor romney talking about the jobs numbers released. [video clip] >> there was a report that came out on jobs. there were fewer jobs created this month that last month. the unemployment rate has come down slowly, but it has come down. it is primarily due to the fact that more and more people have just stopped looking for work. if you just drop out of the work force and say, i cannot go back to work, i will stay home. you are no longer part of
